Most of us aren’t of the means to buy boutique, $3200 sweaters and jackets. But it’s fun to see high fashion in artsy, glossy spreads like Vogue. This month, they did a big fashion spread featuring strange retro-futuristic models on a Mars-like landscape wearing Google Glass. It’s both a bit tongue-in-cheek and forward-looking. Terje Sorgjerd, a professional landscape filmmaker from Norway has really outdone himself with his latest, The Mountain. His short videos are not new by format or composition, but he has mastered time-lapse landscapes in a way that demands respect. I especially admire fellow photographers and filmmakers that can paint visions of Earth that make people pause. That put the natural world in the front of their minds.
On this day before Earth Day, I found it fitting to gear up with some truly lovely inspiration. Watch for the way that banks of clouds roll, ebb and flow like ocean waves.
Gorgeous work, Terje.
