One of the Earth’s Most Beautiful Canyons

We’ve raved about Iceland for a long time now, but it keeps on giving us reasons to write about. The stark contrast of colors, the impossibly cinematic scenery. The purity of the place. Well, one of the world’s most beautiful canyons also calls Iceland home. It’s called Fjaðrárgljúfur, a name as complex as the canyon is gorgeous. Located in southeastern Iceland, the canyon can be explored on foot, depending on water levels. While not as massive as the Grand Canyon, this one has an entirely different feel, with lush vegetation, including a tremendous variety of mosses and lichen.
