A giant red building sprouts from the side of a busy highway in Guatemala City, with cars literally stuck to the sides of the walls. Step inside, and you’re transported to a fascinating and bizarre interior, with 45 foot ceilings, giant plants, and vintage cars placed strategically inside the cafe’s space. ┬áRainwater collection on the ceiling collects water for the plants, and fun, vibrant painted structures lend a very happy, inviting feel. Designed by Taller KEN, The Madero Cafe brings a lot of visual wow to a city that’s starting to modernize in new and interesting ways. Via DesignBoom:
