Microsoft Paint Masterpieces by Pat Hines

Microsoft Paint is kinda like the Comic Sans of the software world. Crippling lame, might be okay for small tasks, avoid as much as possible. But that hasn’t stopped Pat Hines from spending ten years to master the craft, creating large, detailed, expressive illustrations using the novice tool. The art is filled with emotion, humor, and obvious skill.

In fact, the illustrations he created are part of a self-published book called Camp Redblood And The Essential Revenge. It’s an 80’s adventure story, with echoes of Stranger Things and other throwback summer camp nostalgia. We’re struck with how incredibly detailed and nuanced his illustrations are, all created with a piece of software so rudimentary that it borders on useless; for most of us at least. Great work, via Bored Panda:
