Plastic Surf Shows Oceans Strewn with Trash

It’s not news to hear that beaches all over the world are strewn with trash. Indeed, it’s been a problem for decades, but the extent of it is shocking, with formerly pristine islands and atolls in the oceans found to be littered with garbage that washes ashore. The  Great Pacific garbage patch is testament to our pollution problem, being larger than the state of Texas.

Artist and designer Weston Fuller has a powerful series that amplifies this message called Plastic surf, showcasing surfers interacting with a trash-filled sea, their boards floating above a mix of plastic bags, bottles, coffee cup lids, and the like. Via Behance:
