The Robot Next Door

Artist and photographer known as Niko Photographisme has a collection of ‘robot next door’ images that showcase robots as normal people, doing pedestrian, normal things.  From getting dressed, to painting nails, to having a smoke, the robot figures seem remarkably familiar, except for some obvious visual cues that they’re androids, not humans.  It’s a clever series that speaks to our current technological world, which is quickly approaching the era of unrecognizable humanoid robots. When we reach that point, how will we react as humans? It poses all sorts of questions. For this series, Niko Photographisme decided to skip CGI elements, and shoot all of the robotic parts in camera. Obviously Photoshop was used to combine elements, but it’s impressive that all of the robotic parts in these photos were all real props. Via Behance:
