Native to tropical Asia, the Orange Oakleaf Butterfly, or Kallima inachus is a beautiful species that has a remarkable camouflage. When it’s wings are closed, it has a striking resemblance to a fallen dried oak leaf. Down to the most miniature detail, the wrinkled, textured appearance is quite amazing. When open, however, the colors are a brilliant orange and blue. It’s a really fantastic transformation, and another example of nature’s brilliance.
