I started this post by giving you a look at Bloom, a remixed old Disney montage by artist/musician Pogo. It seems I have been in the dark about his work, and I’m going to revise this post by showing a bunch of his intriguing remixes.

This is the video for my track ‘Bloom’, a patchwork of vocals and musical chords from various Disney films. I recorded the harp sample from ‘Sleeping Beauty’, and a series of chords from ‘A.I: Artificial Intelligence’ to form the base of the chorus. The vocals are sampled from Disney films, each of which are illustrated in this video.
I will say it makes me a bit nostalgic for hand-drawn animation. A lot of the CG/3D animation of today is a bit lacking in soul. That being said, a look at Pixar’s UP! makes a huge case for 3D animation.
