Macro photography is beautiful, partly for the detail, partly for the way it can obscure or abstract the subject in question. Macro Room has an excellent short video in which it starts with an extreme close up, then swiftly zooms out, revealing the item. We were certain one of them was a bell pepper, and we were wrong. Can you guess the items before they’re revealed? Via Sploid:

Macro Room is a small production team that films ordinary things at magnifications where they stop being recognizable, and the guessing game format has become a genre of its own. The reason it works is that our brains identify objects by outline first and texture second. Remove the outline and a matchhead, a strawberry and a scouring pad all become landscapes.
