Estimated at 140 million years old, the rainforests of Borneo are the oldest in the world, and home to some of the most diverse and endemic species anywhere on the planet. Biologist-turned-nature photographer Chien C. Lee has an incredible collection of wildlife images, showing the sheer wild beauty of these forests. We see alien-like insects, otherworldly fungi, astounding examples of camouflage, and a sense that Borneo needs to be protected much more than it currently is.
Sadly, deforestation due to palm oil plantations and other resource extraction threaten this unique and beautiful place. We’re glad there are people like Lee, who can inspire and educate with nature photography of this caliber. Via Design You Trust:
