
South American folklore and mythology play a big role in Olaf Hajek‘s poignant and colorful portraits. The work is complex and filled with life, both literally and figuratively. Characters carry hair and beards overflowing with birds, flowers, monkeys and the like. The acrylic on wood paintings are beautifully flat and matte, versus shiny oil paintings.
