After the devastating fire that destroyed much of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, President Macron pledged that France would rebuild it within 5 years.
The huge task of rebuilding such a famous landmark fell on more than 2,000 skilled builders and tradespeople.
The 860-year old cathedral’s ceiling collapsed, as did its central spire. The effort to painstakingly rebuild and restore would have taken far longer than 5 years, had it not been for extraordinary efforts.

The devastating fire in April, 2019 caused massive damage to the structure of the cathedral, and tore at the hearts of French people everywhere.
President Emmanuel Macron visited the cathedral on February 29, standing proudly alongside over 2,000 dedicated craftspeople, architects, carpenters, restorers, painters, roofers, foundry-workers, art experts, masons, sculptors, engineers, and technicians who poured their heart and soul into the monumental task of restoring this breathtaking landmark.

The TV show 60 Minutes did a thorough walkthrough of the space, and shows the level of attention, craftsmanship, and care that went into the restoration.
