Hold onto your hats, this isn’t your average mall art.
Studio Proba, aka Alex Proba, just dropped Unbounded Sanctuary, a true riot of color and whimsy that’s turned Shenzhen’s Grand Joy City Mall into a full-on playground/gallery hybrid.
Oversized kaleidoscopic sculptures popping up like wildflowers on a sugar rush.
Seven larger-than-life sculptures, with names like Where Wildflowers Dream, Balancing Root, Nestkeeper, and Windbloom, dot the indoor and outdoor spaces.

Proba says each piece is a storybook character in a “living, growing landscape”, a surreal world you can stroll through, linger in, and return to without ever growing bored.
Via Instagram:
Part neon nature, part friendly alien, part “oops I wandered into a cartoon”, these sculptures command attention, whether they’re stretching toward the sky or sprawling amid greenery.

Up close, they invite you to loop around, peek inside, and share a moment with both the art… and the other curious humans drawn in by the spectacle.
This is Studio Proba’s first public installation on the mainland, and it’s a big, bold reminder that in our pixel-drenched world, nothing out-colors the real thing. Especially in a mall.
