Lunar New Year Packaging That Becomes a Board Game

Ho Chi Minh City studio Witta Twist designed this Lunar New Year gift box for Vietnamese Web3 company Ninety Eight, and it’s one of those rare packaging projects that completely earns its own existence.

A colorful board game featuring geometric patterns and abstract shapes, with various translucent game pieces in red, yellow, and clear placed strategically on the board.

Built around The Glorious Gallop, the horse is both visual hero and structural logic.

Sharp geometric forms, speed-line textures, and a charged palette of red, yellow and magenta give the whole thing the feeling of a sprint. Full festive energy without the usual softness.

A close-up of artistic glass sculptures resembling flames, displayed on a vibrant table with a striped design, set against a background of a bustling street adorned with colorful flags and a woman and a man on a motorcycle.

The real move is inside. The three-layer box unfolds into a fully playable horse-racing board game, the packaging itself becoming the playing surface.

An elderly man sitting in a wheelchair holds a large decorative box with a horse design, while a young man assists him from behind on a busy street.

Translucent pieces, color-coded tracks, matching red packets, every component belongs. This isn’t a gift box with a game inside. It’s a game that was always a gift box.

Designed to outlast the New Year by a long shot.
