This expressive, charming fruit and produce stand by designer Paul Cocksedge is pretty memorable. It takes the notion of a bowl of fruit, and literally explodes it, allowing each orange, apple, and peach to sit on its own pedestal. It creates a display of food akin to a fireworks display.

More conversation piece than anything, the sculptural stand is hand-welded, making it one-of-a-kind. Available by order on Paul Cocksedge’s website.

The ‘Exploded Fruit Bowl’ explodes colour, form, smell and texture outwards. This celebration of colour isn’t just aesthetically appealing; it serves a function by stopping pieces of fruit from being piled on top of one another, as they would be in a conventional fruit bowl.

“The conventional fruit bowl is usually the visual highlight, with the fruit as a secondary element. With this object, I wanted to flip that around and create a sense of positive, colourful energy, making it a focal point in a room.”

– Paul Cocksedge

  1. Need to make one that can hang from the ceiling and we need a company to start mass production on one that is similar enough to be the “same” without stepping on legal lines, because there is no way I’m paying $550 for any fruit bowl no matter who made it.

I like it. But, it would take a lot of room in and apartment.
