Hyper-Colorful 3D Printed Lamps Echo Memphis Group Design

Wales-based designer Charlie Firth isn’t afraid of color, and it shows in some of his latest lamp designs, which embrace a retro geometric vibe that’s inspired by the Memphis Group design sensibility.

Starting with sketched shapes, Firth combines these fun geometric forms to create multi-layered and multi-textured show pieces, that brighten a desk or table all on their own.

By 3D printing the forms, Firth is able to showcase the infill textures and raw shapes that often are hidden from view. The resulting pieces are lively, fun, and feel alive with possibility.

The contrasting black and white cords play nicely with this shapes, and further accentuate the color palette.

Firth even describes some of his work as Dopamine Decor, from the hit of color and energy they give.
