In the last decade, we’ve seen a number of historic barns turned into modern living spaces. They’re captivating, and provide a great link to history, but they’re not functional barns. That’s why we’re impressed by the Swallowfield Barn by Motiv Architecture in British Columbia. Located on a beautiful hobby farm, the barn has a contemporary shape, using reclaimed timber, and an offset gabled roof with built-in lighting. Inside, the barn is setup with a workshop, as well as a spacious hayloft, meant for both farm utility and a fun, casual meeting spot for friends and family. Via Uncrate:
