Utilizing discarded coffee grounds, this pencil shows that food waste can be turned into something useful and beautiful.

Called Grind Z, these coffee leads can be used by themselves or in a mechanical pencil, and supposedly smell great while writing or drawing.

Launched as a Kickstarter campaign, the unique product uses around 20% coffee grounds in addition to waxes to create a smooth drawing and writing implement.

Biodegradable and wood free, the pencil lead is also meant to jumpstart creativity, with the natural coffee scent it gives off.
