Sand is one of the most abundant materials on earth, so it’s nice to see people creating products from it that are useful. Creative firm The Foundry has a set of coffee cups made from a material they call Ramel, that is moldable. Inspired by every shifting dunes, The Foundry by Tinkah set out to develop a material that tames the characteristics of desert sand into a moldable medium. “Ramel” has the ability to shift shape into functional and aesthetic products that emerge from their environment rather than adopting their surrounding.
