Minimalist and spare, these images by Samir Belhamra are meditative in nature, almost the visual equivalent of zen music. The blue tones and clean flow make up a series called Smell of Silence. Belhamra is a photographer and digital artist, and his images are as much built as taken. He shoots landscapes, then strips them back in post-production to a horizon, a single cloud, a crescent moon or a line of dunes, and grades everything toward the same cool blue, so that a beach in one frame and a snowfield in the next feel like the same quiet planet.
