Scandinavia has always had a piece of our heart, and Sweden in particular always seems like a place out of a fairytale. Tucked up in the Northwoods, with unspoiled natural beauty and a decidedly simple way of life, the reputation is lovely.

As with all places, we know the picture is much more diverse than that, but this series of photos by Jakob Wagner tends to make us picture the place we imagine. Taken mostly in Dalsland and Värmlands Län, we see a shoreline uncluttered, with sweeping views of water with stars above.  We get a sense of the serene quiet and peacefulness, just the way we pictured it.
