Learning your ABCs just got infinitely fuzzier.
For the annual 36 Days of Type challenge, Lima-based illustrator and 3D designer José Arias took things in a decidedly cuddly, delightfully chaotic direction.
Instead of sleek typography or minimalist forms, he went full-on Jim Henson meets Pixar, turning every single letter into a wildly expressive, fur-covered beast.
Arias used Cinema 4D to tackle the ambitious project, treating it as a playground to master digital fur, soft lighting, and wild textures. The resulting creature lineup is utterly charming. You’ve got snaggle-toothed gigglers, neon party animals, crowned weirdos, and grumpy little fuzzballs, all bursting with personality and sporting shades of lavender, peach, and electric lime. The fur looks so soft and dense you’ll half expect your screen to feel like a warm muppet.
It’s the ultimate proof that design challenges don’t have to take themselves too seriously. Sometimes, the best way to flex your digital chops is just to build an army of adorable monsters.
