Showing extreme dedication and skill, artist Selva Aparicio from Spain has created a truly unique piece, hand carving an intricate rug into an oak floor.  In the artist’s words, this piece is about “covering and exposing, trauma and bearing witness“.

We can only imagine how many hours went into the carving, and how surprised future tenants of this space might be when they discover it. See more of Aparicio’s work on her website.
