We love the color and movement of this mesmerizing short film by Rus Khasanov, showcasing impossibly colorful balls of paint and glitter morphing, merging, and absorbing one another. Like seeing cells divide and combine in a hyper color world, the video is also edited with precision, paired with a dramatic score. Khasanov is a Russian visual artist who has built a career out of macro footage of paint, ink, glitter and soap film, most of it shot in his own studio with no digital effects. The trick in Unity is a mixture of paint and glue that lets the balls hold their shape until they touch, and then dissolve into one another. His work has since appeared in title sequences and music videos, and we keep a running collection of the genre.
