Tropical beaches the world over offer all manner of beautiful escapes. But there are some that are so stunning, they seem to be almost make-believe in their perfection.  When we came across images of some of the beaches in the Seychelles, we were convinced some of them were digital renderings versus real life. The large, granite rocks jutting cleanly out of the turquoise waters seemed to be too beautiful to be real. But indeed, they are.

Located 1,500 kilometers off the east coast of Africa, The Seychelles consist of 115 islands, and just 98,000 people.  Due to a strong tourism industry, many of the most amazing natural wonders are protected, which also generates income for the locals. Consequently, the Seychelles is the only country in Africa considered to be high-income.

In this article, we track down the very best beaches on this amazing island nation, and explore what make it so stunning.

Anse Source d’Argent is one of the most iconic beaches in the Seychelles, and for good reason. With its powdery white sand, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and dramatic rock formations, it’s a beach that seems almost too beautiful to be real. But why is Anse Source d’Argent so pristine and beautiful?

One reason for the beach’s beauty is its location. Anse Source d’Argent is located on the island of La Digue, which is one of the smaller and less developed islands in the Seychelles. This means that the beach is relatively untouched by human activity and remains in a natural state. There are no large resorts or hotels on the island, which helps to preserve the beach’s pristine beauty.

Another factor that contributes to the beach’s beauty is the unique rock formations that are found there. The beach is dotted with large granite boulders, which create a stunning contrast with the white sand and turquoise waters. These boulders are believed to be some of the oldest rock formations in the world, dating back over 750 million years.

The beach is also home to a thriving ecosystem, with a variety of marine life and plant species. The waters around Anse Source d’Argent are home to colorful fish, sea turtles, and other marine creatures. The coral reefs that are found here also help to protect the beach from erosion and contribute to the beach’s natural beauty.

Finally, the Seychelles government has implemented strict conservation measures to protect the natural beauty of the beach. The beach is part of the L’Union Estate, a protected nature reserve that is managed by the government. Visitors to the beach are required to pay an entrance fee, which helps to fund conservation efforts on the island.

Anse Lazio is another stunning beach, also host to huge granite boulders, where gentle waves lap endlessly against them, and the water takes on a myriad of blue-green colors.

Honestly, it’s hard to go wrong when so many amazing, pristine beaches are there to explore.
