What if you kept reducing and simplifying a theme? What would it look like?

That’s the concept in Michal Krasnopolskiโ€™s dramatically simple movie posters. Reduce, reduce, reduce, until the bare essential element is revealed.

For dozens of movies, we see themes reduced to simple lines, referencing the films’ themes or ethos.

Radically reduced, the entire film’s ideas are encapsulated in a simple stroke.

Whether action movie or classic cinema, we appreciate the clever simplification of these iconic movies, and the resulting poster.

Can you understand the simplification theme in each movie poster?

  1. While Kranolpolsky’s movie posters are nice in a minimalistc sense they do not convey the message of the movies that they represent. Minimalism is just not working here. Though this form was elevated as something “higher” in art at one time the truth is that less is actually less. intros case just not enough information.
