We named this site Moss & Fog for a feeling.
We’ve spent a good chunk of our life in the Pacific Northwest, where fog isn’t rare weather so much as a mood the whole region settles into.
Some mornings here in Portland the world just goes soft: the hills vanish, the traffic hushes, and everything close to you turns quietly important. We’ve always loved that.
Fog doesn’t hide the world so much as edit it down. Stripping away the noise until you’re left with a single tree, a single ridgeline, a single moment.
There’s a kind of poetry in the science of it, too. Certain mosses drink directly from fog, pulling water straight out of the air (yes, they really do that). It felt like the perfect name for a place built to catch beautiful things as they drift past.
