The Dolomites are a stunning mountain range in Northern Italy, and we see a glimpse into the beauty of the fall colors, thanks to some great seasonal photos by Mรกrcio Miranda.
With lingering banks of fog, the bright yellow foliage, and some great perspective from a classic rowboat, we are transported to the cool shores of this glacier lake.

The bright yellow fir trees aren’t sick, they are Larch trees, which lose their needles every autumn.

Beautiful Larch trees, which turn colors and lose their needles every autumn.
What seems like a tidal wave of toxic gas has flowed over the Valley, what happened?
Hi Lyone, it’s a smart call out, luckily these trees are perfectly healthy, they’re Larches, which are a type of conifer that lose their needles in the fall. Beautiful, right?
Iโm definitely not an expert on this, but it looks to me like there is something very wrong with all those pine trees in these photos. Arenโt they supposed to be evergreens? Are these yellowing pines suffering the effects of Acid Rain?
