There’s something quietly magnetic about these illustrations by Ranganath Krishnamani.

Two women placing lit lamps into a calm water body under a night sky with a full moon, surrounded by palm trees.

Each frame offers a glimpse into life in India, moving between the sacred and the everyday with ease. Small family moments, crowded streets, and flashes of stillness all unfold in his signature silhouetted style.

A silhouette of a person holding a bunch of colorful balloons, with a young child reaching out towards them, set against a backdrop of traffic and an orange sky.

Having spent time in cities like Bangalore, we recognize the rhythm. The density, the warmth, the constant motion. It’s all here, distilled into something more reflective.

Interior view of a car with a driver wearing earbuds, a decorated dashboard featuring religious symbols, and traffic visible through the windshield.

Krishnamani notes that many of these ideas came to him while waiting at long traffic lights during his daily commute. Moments of pause, turned into something lasting.

A colorful illustration of a motorcycle rider with three passengers holding an umbrella in heavy rain, with blurred cars and palm trees in the background.
A person sitting by a campfire at night, holding a cup, with palm trees in the background and a starry sky above.
A silhouette of a woman and two girls interacting with a decorative fountain at night, illuminated by soft lights, surrounded by a forested backdrop.
A group of people releasing glowing lanterns into the night sky against a backdrop of a city skyline, with twinkling stars visible.
Silhouettes of people praying in a temple at night, with hanging bells and oil lamps illuminating the scene.
