Entitled Week at the Knees, this visual knockout by sculptor, designer, and illusionist Alex Chinneck ticks another box for him as an artist.
This time, the building itself looks like itโs had enough of standing tall.
Unveiled at Clerkenwell Design Week, โWeek at the Kneesโ is a four-story Georgian-style facade that appears to crumple and sag. It’s as if gravity itself got bored of behaving. This is classic Chinneck: bold, bizarre, and totally photogenic.
Crafted with 320 meters of recycled steel and bespoke bricks, the installation plays architectural dress-up with a healthy dose of surrealism.
Chinneckโs past work includes buildings that unzip, levitate, or slide apart โ and this latest piece keeps the magic alive, warping reality right in the heart of London.
