Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

E.T.

War of the Worlds.

Those movies are synonymous with alien encounters, and are all directed by Steven Spielberg.

We’re excited that he’s back in the director chair for another alien-focused movie, entitled Disclosure Day.

Starring Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson and Colman Domingo, the movie takes us on a riveting vision reportedly on a single, irreversible moment: confirmation that humanity is not alone.

Spielberg has always been less interested in spectacle than in the moment just before it. The pause, and the quiet intake of breath.ย Disclosure Dayย appears to live entirely in that space.

This is familiar territory for Spielberg, but filtered through a more contemporary unease.

A man in a casual jacket and hoodie is standing at a table, looking down at a black bag in a dilapidated room with peeling wallpaper and old furniture.

If the rumors hold, the film will not offer easy catharsis. Instead, it may sit with the discomfort of knowing.ย

This initial teaser gives us a taste of what’s to come when the film arrives on June 12, 2026.
