Airbnb Launches Full-Size Polly Pocket House in Massachusetts

As part of their awesome Icons line, Airbnb recently unveiled a charmingly realistic version of the beloved children’s toy Polly Pocket. Fittingly set in Littleton, Massachusetts, the life-size rental is an impressive facsimile of Mattel’s popular toy.

The original Polly Pocket was a series of plastic cases, which opened up to become a dollhouse, complete with miniature figures and toys. It’s celebrating its 35th birthday this year.

Airbnb’s recreation is amazingly faithful to the toy, with a cheery, chunky plastic aesthetic that is hard to believe has been up-sized to human scale.

The two story clamshell apartment is open to the elements, and features a kitchen, closet, living room and more, all with hand-crafted pieces that fit the aesthetic of the original toy. The closet even features costumes that guests can try on, to truly live the Polly Pocket dream. We especially love the toy potted plant, which fits the aesthetic so well.

A sleeping pod is just steps away from the main clamshell, and features colorful sleeping bags and lighting to make the stay a memorable occasion.

The Polly Pocket rental is only available to rent September 12-14, at $89 per guest, a nod to the toy’s launch in 1989.

Guests can request to book one of three one-night stays occurring September 12 to 14 for four guests each, at $89 per person—a nod to Polly’s debut on the scene in 1989. • Try on the doll life for size in Polly’s closet, where her most iconic throwback looks hang waiting to be worn in joyful hues and glossy silhouettes in the beloved signature gummy texture

• Kick back in the living room with some popcorn, a movie and plenty of pillows

• Doze off on Polly’s pullout couch or cozy up in her life-sized Action Park Tent just 10 feet away from the compact after filling up on slumber party fun
