Face (and body) painting can on take a myriad of looks and feelings, from subtle to jaw-dropping. This would clearly fall in the latter category. Created by students at Make Up For Ever, the assignment was to channel the work and style of the iconic Japanese artist Takashi Murakami.

The results are spectacular, if a little spooky and frightening at first glance. We especially love the ones that obscure where the eyes should be, transforming a face into something entirely artistic and wild. Via InspirationGrid:
