Emerging seamlessly from the undulating hills of Nashtarud Iran, this home by MRK Office and architect Mohammad Reza Kohzadi is less a structure and more a landform. It’s entitled House Under the Hill.
With its grassy roof blending into the terrain, it appears as if the earth itself has curled open to reveal a futuristic sanctuary. The result is an architectural gesture so subtle, it feels discovered rather than built.
Beneath the sweeping concrete curves lies a space defined by fluidity.
Expansive glass walls dissolve boundaries between indoors and out, allowing the minimalist interior to drink in the surrounding hills and sky.
The architecture’s organic flow and soft contours evoke both natural erosion and spacecraft design.
