Barbed wire, step aside. Growing up, we associated tattoos with tough, serious people, and didn’t imagine the way the art would change and evolve to become such a cultural touchstone.

Living on the West coast, we see a plethora of people with all manner of tattoos, from bold to subtle, and everything in between. And while many of them are….not our taste, it’s clear there is some real creativity at work.

South Korean artist Zihee pushes the art level up another notch, with her gradient leaves, delicate flowers, and beautiful color combinations, filling out sharks, jellyfish, and bouquets of flowers. Via Colossal:
