With the dramatic fire that Paris’ famed Notre Dame Cathedral sustained recently, people  have wondered what the rebuilding effort will look like.

Designers and architects have offered up their suggestions, and Russian Alexander Nerovnya shows a variety of fascinating ideas to replace the burned roof and spire. We’re fans of the faceted glass roof design, which would obviously modernize some of the design, yet keep the majority of the cathedral as is. We’re curious if it would bring additional light into the interior, or change the feel of the 800-year old icon.

We’re not likely to see anything like this when the restoration is complete, but it’s fun to imagine something different to tie the historic landmark to the future. Via DYT:
