No more awkwardly asking the bartender to plug in your close-to-dying phone.

A new partnership from Cosentino x FreePower have wireless charging built directly into stone-like countertops.

The sleek integration of wireless charging allows for less cords, and an ease of use for people at home, or in bars, restaurants and hotels.

Cosentino is a well known surface manufacturer, with materials like Silestone and Dekton. Their partnership with Firepower introduces zones on the countertops where phones and other wireless devices can be charged.

With multiple charging coils seamlessly embedded in the material, this system delivers a charging area capable of powering up to three devices simultaneously at 15 watts each—the fastest Qi wireless charging speed available, on par with Apple’s MagSafe. It’s designed to support a range of devices, including smartphones and earbuds like AirPods.

The charging zones are marked with white ‘rings’, so users easily can identify where the devices need to sit.

We’re curious if this technology will ever allow for larger, power hungry devices like slow cookers, blenders, and stand mixers to operate cord-free. For now, it’s a start toward a sleeker, less cluttered kitchen and bar space.

The first products will be available from Cosentino in the first half of 2025.
