Wisdom is a Laysan albatross, and has just laid an egg at the ripe age of 68 (at least). This type of Albatross is found in the northern Pacific Ocean, and they breed in the northwestern Hawaiian islands. Wisdom was first banded by scientists in 1956, meaning she is at least 68 years of age. The fact that she is still laying eggs is remarkable, and shows us how much we still have to learn about birds, their lifespans, and their migratory patterns.
