Yosemite National Park boasts some of the most exquisite natural wonders in the world. The 759,620 acre park was officially declared a federally preserved land by Abraham Lincoln in 1864.

With groves of ancient giant sequoia, massive granite mountains, and pristine rivers and waterfalls, it’s no wonder this national park is considered by many to be heaven on earth.

Below are a collection of great photos from Yosemite taken in 1969, when the park was less crowded, but equally beautiful. Via Past of a Stranger.

  1. Wow, that’s amazing! What an incredible place to get married. We were married in the Sierras, but not Yosemite!
