Kyiv, Ukraine based artist Alexey Kondakov takes figures out of classical paintings, superimposing them in, on, and weaved through scenes of modern day life.

The juxtaposition works pretty smoothly, with a solid blending of old and new. Photoshopped skillfully into everyday images, the classical figures take on a whole new meaning, some comically inserted into basketball courts or even a crowded subway.

It’s clever and fun to look through.
