We’ve always hated styrofoam coolers, despite how well they work. They’re terrible for the environment, they break and cause ugly debris, and their squeaky sound is like nails on a chalkboard.
Igloo has said goodbye to the foam cooler, and are selling the Recool, which is made from recycled paper and wax. Meant to be used over and over, the Recool is said to hold 75 pounds, and can keep ice frozen for nearly 15 hours. After its use, it’s fully biodegradable.
Available at Target and REI for $10, it’s not going to last you forever, but if you’re traveling, it’s a much better choice than a foam cooler.
