Mini has long been known for their small but clever packaging, including high quality interiors and quirky switchgear.
For years they’ve had a circular center dashboard that houses the infotainment, as well as climate control. But that circular shape still housed a traditional rectangular display, making the design a little less than ideal.
For their new 2024 Mini Cooper EV, they’ve completely overhauled the interior, with the focus being a large circular OLED display, finally living up to their original design promise.
The nearly 10-inch diameter display is leaps and bounds more capable than their previous design, and offers a range of experience modes and unique UI that push the brand forward.
From a design standpoint, the circular all-screen canvas opens up a number of possibilities for mapping, speed, and integrating climate controls into the round display.
We’re impressed by their push into this new digital space, and the innovations that come with the new form factor. Here’s hoping the system works for drivers as well as it looks.
There’s also a range of characters, games, and modes that bring the display and the car’s character alive.
