Check out these brain-bending images from photographer Peter Li who has traveled the world finding beautiful churches and cathedrals, and given us an entirely new perspective.
Utilizing dramatic panoramic photography, Li captures the vertical flow of the architecture, giving us an almost surrealist view of the ornate interiors. Great symmetry and form, combined with the intricate architectural details, make this series really grab the eye.
“Observing a three-dimensional space in its entirety gives us a view/perspective beyond what the eye can see,” he explains. “It breaks us from reality, plays with our perception of shape and form and creates a sense of another world. Through my photography, I hope to impart the otherworldly nature to the viewer, encouraging them to take a momentary step out of their reality.”
