Ray Oranges is an artist from Florence Italy with a distinctive abstract sensibility. His art ranges from character-driven to more shape and color-oriented work. A lot of his conceptual pieces have a soft geometric feel to them, lightly textured but clearly digital, with stacked hues and complementary forms interplaying. In one example, he plays with animated GIFs, turning a landscape of the Sydney Opera House into a kaleidoscope of repeated form and motion. In another, he pays homage to the famous Italian composer Toscanini. He clearly has a lot of fun experimenting with color and form.
