In Kyiv’s Obolon district, Aranchii Architects has envisioned a church that feels both celestial and grounded.

The luminous, sculptural form rising from the earth like a prayer cast in concrete and steel.

An artistic rendering of the Holy Trinity Church in Kyiv's Obolon district, showcasing its sculptural design amidst landscaped greenery and pathways.

The new Holy Trinity Church is shaped by sweeping organic curves and fluid geometry, evoking both protection and ascent.

Modern chapel design featuring a sleek, curved exterior with a cross on top, surrounded by greenery and a morning sky.

Yet beneath its graceful exterior lies a sobering truth: the church will also function as an underground air-raid shelter, a sanctuary against the violence that continues to shadow Ukraine’s skies.

A contemporary architectural structure with a curved, metallic facade featuring a prominent wooden cross. The building is surrounded by greenery and pathways, under a clear sky.

This duality, a space for worship above, refuge below, captures the paradox of beauty built in a time of war.

Still in its planning phase, the project has no set construction date, but its vision speaks powerfully to the resilience of faith and design.

It’s architecture that shelters both the body and the soul.
