Shoe company Vivobarefoot has always taken a different approach to footwear, with a minimal design that encourages a barefoot-style of walking and running. They claim it creates healthier, stronger feet, and their fans agree.

Now the company is pushing that difference, with a unique circular system called VivoBiome, which uses a 3D scan of your foot to make a perfectly fit shoe. The minimal shoe is made out of a material called BioCirflex, which is compostable in industrial settings.

The circular concept is great, with made-to-order shoes that are guaranteed to fit perfectly, and an end-of-life cycle that turns them back into the earth.

They call it scan-to-print, and foot-to-compost.

The shoes are still in a testing phase, but should be available to purchase soon.

Learn more about them on Vivobarefoot’s website.
