The Bicycle Thief by Vittorio De Sica
The Bicycle Thief by Vittorio De Sica

The Times reviewed the Bicycle Thief, Vittorio De Sica’s Neorealism picture from 1949 this week. I remember my uncle Mark describing his love for the movie, and how he wanted to jump up at the end and shout “let me buy you a bike, for the love of god!!” . It’s both a tragic and beautiful movie, and one that I plan on revisiting soon.

I tried in vain to post the video here, literally for over an hour. Alas, it couldn’t be done. But the screenshot will take you to the video. Thanks!
